SnippetAI keeps your saved lines under your control.

This policy describes what the SnippetAI Chrome extension stores, when it sends data anywhere else, and how those flows relate to optional Notion and Obsidian syncing.

What SnippetAI stores

The text you explicitly choose to save.
The source page title and URL for each saved snippet.
The time a snippet was saved and the category you selected.
Your local destination settings, such as whether Notion or Obsidian sync is turned on.
When Notion is connected, the OAuth session data needed to keep your connection working.
When Obsidian is connected, the selected vault and writing preferences needed for local sync.

Where data is stored

SnippetAI stores your library and settings in the extension’s local browser storage on your device. By default, snippets stay local until you choose to enable an external destination.

When data leaves your device

If you connect Notion, SnippetAI sends OAuth requests through the SnippetAI backend only for token exchange, token refresh, and token revocation.
If you enable Notion sync, SnippetAI sends your saved snippet content and related metadata to your own connected Notion workspace.
If you enable Obsidian sync, SnippetAI sends your saved snippet content to the local Obsidian helper running on your device.

SnippetAI does not sell your data and does not use your saved snippets for advertising.

Permissions explained

storage stores your local library and settings.
sidePanel shows the extension interface in Chrome’s side panel.
tabs opens saved source links and checks whether the current tab is a supported web page.
identity completes Notion OAuth inside Chrome.
alarms retries failed sync operations.
http://*/* and https://*/* host access are used only on regular web pages where snippet capture is supported.

Data deletion and disconnecting

You can delete saved snippets from the side panel.
You can disconnect Notion or Obsidian at any time.
Disconnecting a destination stops future syncs but does not automatically delete content already written to that destination.
To remove content already synced to Notion or Obsidian, delete it from those destinations directly.

Analytics and advertising

SnippetAI does not use third-party advertising inside the extension. It also does not run analytics that inspect the content you save.
